When developing a website, apart from needing to have a real hosting, the one you need most is Ampps, a virtual hosting for testing installation and development services before the website starts operation.
What is Ampps?
Ampps give you the environment that is the same as the hosting provider. It allows you to develop, repair and create or experiment with daring ideas in web programming without affecting and locked by the use of excessive material resources.
If you are a web programmer, you know that an endless loop is enough to make a VPS resource exhausted when trying to download. For the hosting provider, it is extremely serious. That greatly influences on other customers using shared servers (However, today there are many ways for providers to overcome it). They have to lock your services temporarily to cut down the excessive use of resources; even some suppliers have to cancel your service.
That is not something new, but what I want to say is that the versatility of Ampps for web programming, changing the version of PHP comfortably, and installing or upgrading the services of the virtual server quickly. You can completely master your lines of code and avoid conflicting code when changing PHP version.
Install and boot Ampps
First, connect to Download Page to download the source code corresponding to your computer. Now there are 03 versions: Windows, Mac, and Linux.
After downloading and running the installation file, it will look like below. Click Next for the next step.
Select a place to saving for Ampps. I think you should save on drive D and avoid the system drive. Because one day, you will not be able to boot your computer, and you do not have the tools to backup. Besides, if you save it on the system drive, you will have more trouble about saving or deleting the files.
Continue to click Next and then click Install to begin the installation.
After installing, Ampps will automatically launch when you put a tick at “Launch Ampps”.
When Ampps boot, many computers get Mysql status and can not boot, you will see the following screen:
To overcome that, click to MySQL and select Configuration.
When Config file opens, you pull down to “mysqld” and add: “innodb_force_recovery = 1” as the following picture.
Save the file and return to the original interface, click Start.
If the display shows below, MySQL starts successfully.
Connect to: http://localhost to enjoy the achievement.
In the next article, I will guide you to install a domain by the control interface of Ampps interface and many other functions.
